Welcome to the Church IT Round

Texas Church IT Roundtable Feb 23rd

MinistryTECH/Spring 09 National Church IT RoundTable April 23/24

Church IT Roundtable at Granger Community Church June 26

Fall 09 National Church IT Roundtable is still TBD - we've not talked much yet about plans for our big national fall event.  The vote is somewhere on the West coast since we've not held anything West yet.  3 California churches have already expressed interest in hosting..w00t!

CITRT.org is currently undergoing major reconstruction ... this wiki site will act as the landing page until the new site is ready to be revealed

The Church IT Roundtable (CITRT) is an informal organization of Church and ministry IT people from all across the country and internationally.  Very much like NACBA, MinistryCOM, and other organizations that involve church administration and church technology, there has been a growing interest among Church IT people to find ways to connect with each other.  And thus the Church IT RoundTable was born.

CITRT Vision

  • To create people networks of Church IT professionals (both Church staff, volunteers, consultants and companies) to assist and support Church IT

  • To provide Best of Class Solutions for Church IT

  • To provide regular Church IT RoundTable discussions, both online twice a month and face-to-face meetings twice a year

  • To encourage and have fellowship with one another

  • To provide an online forum to express ideas, ask questions, work out solutions to current challenges, and document best of class solutions to Church IT

  • To provide assistance and best value at the lowest possible cost to the Church IT professional

UPCOMING CITRT EVENTS

Texas Church IT Roundtable Feb 23rd - The Texans are having another regional event ... this one is shaping up to be much larger than any previous!  Details at tx.citrt.org

MinistryTECH/Spring 09 National Church IT RoundTable April 23/24 - The 2nd annual MinstryTECH event will be in Colorado Springs this year. Early bird registration ends Feb 15th!  This is a combined MinistryTECH/CITRT event pulling together the best that each has to offer.

Church IT Roundtable at Granger Community Church June 26 - We're moving the GCC roundtable from it's traditional fall timeslot to summer.  Perhaps we should call this the "Midwest Roundtable" or the "Great Lakes RT"?  Regardless, we're just starting to work on details and registration will be open in a few weeks.  Hoping to make it a Friday/Saturday event.

Fall 09 National Church IT Roundtable is still TBD - we've not talked much yet about plans for our big national fall event.  The vote is somewhere on the West coast since we've not held anything West yet.  3 California churches have already expressed interest in hosting..w00t!

The latest compilation of all the different CITRT resources scattered around the web ... what's missing?

CITRT.org - We're planning to continue to make this THE FUNNEL for all things Church IT related (see CITRT Summary and Vision).  A place to capture everything from events to resources to prayer requests to stuff to buy/sell.  As mentioned above, an extreme site makeover is coming Spring 09.

Church IT Podcast - www.churchITpodcast.com  Twice a month CITRT folks "meet" online and via phone to discuss all manner of IT topics.  The call is recorded and then made available as a podcast.  We even have transcriptions of each call to aid in searching for something in particular.  [maintained by Jason Powell]

Instant IRC Chat Room - This link takes you directly into the Church IT chat room ... nothing but a web browser required.

Church IT Survey - Ever wonder what churches similar to you are doing IT wise?  How many computers do they support?  What's their IT staff size? Do they support multi-site, etc?  Or what about those churches several steps ahead of you - what's their IT makeup look like?  How should you plan now to be at that size in the future?  What about trying to find churches around you with experience in VoIP, Virtualization, etc?  Wouldn't it be sweet to have a resource that helped shed some light on these questions?  That's what this is for. (note to self to get more current data into the survey and find a better way to manage end user updates)  [created/maintained by Jason Powell]

Church IT Survey Google Map - Derek Berg made a nice mashup between the above survey data and google maps.  See where other churches that have survey data are in relationship to you. (Derek's working on a newer mashup version)
